After 15 years in a small town in Ohio, Roxy Carmichael (Ava Fabian), a celebrity, is returning to her hometown. This event sparks a certain amount of excitement among most of the townspeople, including Denton Webb (Jeff Daniels), her ex-husband. But it is Dinky Bossetti (Winona Ryder)—a teenager who was adopted and is ignored by most of her peers—who is most affected by this, as she believes she is Roxy’s secret daughter.
